👉Concrete Cube Casting Frequency — IS 456:2000
⏺Concrete cube testing is carried out to assess the compressive strength and quality of concrete.
☄Minimum Sampling Frequency
🚥Quantity of Concrete Minimum Samples Cubes Required
1–5 m³ 1 sample 3 cubes
6–15 m³ 2 samples 6 cubes
16–30 m³ 3 samples 9 cubes
31–50 m³ 4 samples 12 cubes
Above 50 m³ 4 samples + 1 additional sample for every additional 50 m³ or part thereof 3 cubes per sample
🌟Important Points
🔹 Standard concrete test cube size: 150 × 150 × 150 mm.
🔹 Each sample generally consists of 3 cubes.
🔹 Cubes are commonly tested at 7 days and 28 days to assess compressive strength.
🔹 The 28-day strength is generally used for assessing the specified characteristic compressive strength of concrete.
🔹 Cubes should be properly cast, compacted, identified, cured and tested according to the applicable testing procedure.
🔹 The frequency shown is a minimum requirement; additional testing may be specified depending on the project requirements and quality-control plan.
🔹 For actual site work, always verify the current applicable edition of the relevant Indian Standard and project specifications.
