Pavement Road Construction Layers

A pavement road consists of four main layers:

1. Asphalt Surface Course: Provides a smooth riding surface, skid resistance, and waterproofing.
2. Base Course: Provides strength and distributes traffic loads.
3. Subbase Course: Improves drainage, stability, and load distribution.
4. Natural Soil (Subgrade): The compacted foundation that supports the entire pavement structure.

Important Dimensions:

L = Road Length
W = Road Width
H = Layer Thickness

Engineering Note: Proper material selection, layer thickness, and compaction are essential for constructing a durable road and preventing premature pavement failure.
