The Myth of Full Nodes

If every full node were to shut down and reject the actions of miners tomorrow, the overall impact on the Bitcoin network would be insignificant.

The true number of users, around 10 million, far outweighs the number of full nodes, which are roughly between 5,000 and 10,000.

This means that the percentage of full nodes relative to the total user base is a fraction of a percent.

Miners are the ones responsible for creating new blocks and validating transactions. The majority of users, including exchanges and wallets, rely on the blockchain that miners produce.

If full nodes were to reject the chain produced by miners, their rejection would not change the blockchain’s state. The network would continue to function because miners would still be producing blocks, and users would still be relying on those blocks to conduct transactions.

The absence of full nodes would not prevent transactions from being processed or blocks from being added to the chain.

Full nodes do not contribute to the mining power or the creation of new blocks.

Their (if this is even a point) primary function—storing and observing the blockchain—does not impact the decision-making process of miners.

Therefore, even if every full node chose to shut down or reject the miners' actions, the blockchain would remain intact, and the network would continue to operate as usual.

The overall network would maintain its integrity and function smoothly because the essential processes—mining, block creation, and user transactions—are independent of the presence of full nodes. Their absence would merely mean fewer passive observers, without any disruption to the core activities that keep the Bitcoin blockchain running. The effect on network operations would be effectively zero, as full nodes do not have the power to alter the actions of miners or the resulting state of the blockchain.
