In some Muslim-majority countries, people like me can be legally executed just for choosing not to believe in Islam. In others, we face persecution, imprisonment, or the loss of basic civil rights.
Yet, instead of confronting this very real human rights crisis, “progressives” obsessed with silencing us, labeling our survival stories as “Islamophobia.” We’re not even allowed to speak about our traumas. We’re not even allowed to say what we know to be true—what we’ve directly experienced—out loud.
If your activism defends an ideology while ignoring the people suffering under it, I urge you to rethink your position.
