👉How to Calculate Quantity of Sand & Cement for Plastering

🪧Accurate estimation of cement and sand is essential for quality plastering and cost control.

💫First, calculate the plastering area (Length × Height), then multiply it by the plaster thickness to obtain the wet volume.

🚧Convert the wet volume to dry volume by multiplying it by 1.33

▶️Finally, use the selected mix ratio (such as 1:4 or 1:6) to determine the required quantities of cement and sand.

⏺Example (10 m × 10 m wall with 12 mm plaster):

✔️ Plaster Area = 100 m²
✔️ Wet Volume = 1.20 m³
✔️ Dry Volume = 1.596 m³

🧷For 1:4 Cement : Sand Mix

🔹 Cement = 0.319 m³ ≈ 9 bags ≈ 450 kg
🔹 Sand = 1.28 m³

📎For 1:6 Cement : Sand Mix

🔹 Cement = 0.228 m³ ≈ 6.5–7 bags ≈ 340 kg
🔹 Sand = 1.37 m³

▶️Important Notes:

1 cement bag = 50 kg

Dry volume factor = 1.33

Always add 5–10% extra for wastage and site variations.

Actual material consumption may vary depending on surface condition and workmanship.
