They forget Mercenaries have no legal rights as its a criminal act. If wounded who will pay their medical bills not the people that hired them. And when Ukraine falls they will be trapped unable to leave facing decades in jail with no access to their embassies as they technically don't exist. After the Khinzal strike 180 reported dead 400 wounded the US company that hired them reportedly fled Ukraine. You can guarantee as a good American employer they have already filed for bankruptcy to avoid paying them or any claims for medical assistance.
