GETHSEMANE HOUR PRAYER

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Abba Father, in this quiet and sacred hour, I enter spiritually into the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus knelt in sorrow and surrender. As it is written, He began to be deeply distressed and troubled (Mark 14:33). I watch and pray with Him now, choosing not to sleep through this holy moment but to remain present in prayer. Draw my heart into deeper communion with You.

Lord Jesus, in the garden You said, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful” (Matthew 26:38). You understand anguish, fear, and the weight of what lies ahead. In my own Gethsemane moments when burdens feel overwhelming and answers seem distant teach me to pray as You prayed: “Not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Give me the grace to surrender completely to the Father’s will, trusting that obedience leads to victory.

Father, as Jesus knelt and prayed more earnestly, His sweat became like drops of blood (Luke 22:44). In this hour, I bring before You my deepest struggles, silent battles, and hidden fears. Strengthen me where I am weak. Send Your comfort and assurance just as an angel appeared to strengthen Him (Luke 22:43). Let heaven minister to me in this time of watchful prayer.

Lord, keep me spiritually awake. You asked Your disciples, “Could you not watch with Me one hour?” (Matthew 26:40). I offer this time to You as an act of love and devotion. Guard my heart from distraction, indifference, and spiritual slumber. Purify my intentions and deepen my desire to remain faithful, even when the night feels long.

Holy Spirit, help me to intercede for others who are in their own Gethsemane those facing illness, betrayal, fear, or major decisions. Let my prayer become a channel of grace and strength for them. Teach me perseverance in prayer and trust in God’s perfect plan.

Lord Jesus, from the garden You walked forward with courage toward the cross. As this hour of prayer ends, help me rise with renewed strength and confidence. Whatever tomorrow brings, let me carry the peace that comes from surrender and the assurance that the Father’s will is always good.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
