How many times can we use Plywood formwork:

The number of times you can reuse wooden plywood formwork for slab depends mainly on:

I. Quality of plywood:

1.Ordinary commercial plywood 2–3 times (because it absorbs water, swells, and weakens quickly).

2.Shuttering plywood (film-faced, waterproof, WBP grade) → 6–10 times with good care.

3.High-quality phenolic film-faced plywood→ 15–25 times or more.

II. Handling & storage:

If edges are damaged during striking → reuse reduces.

If stored in dry, shaded place after use → reuse increases.

Applying form oil / release agent before concreting prevents sticking and extends life.

III. Workmanship:

Careful nailing and removal reduces breakage.

Cutting into smaller pieces for adjustments reduces future usability.

👉 In practice, on site conditions (normal quality + average care), you can expect:

Ordinary plywood: 3–4 repetitions.

Film-faced shuttering plywood: 8–12 repetitions.

Premium imported shuttering plywood: up to 20+ repetitions.
