The AfD just won their first regional election in the franconian part of Thuringia, right at the border to Bavaria. One year before the state election in Thuringia Mr. Robert Sesselmann will become the first AfD Landrat in the district of Sonneberg.
A Landrat is a district administrator with considerable executive power.
As you can imagine, the German left is losing it and is making threats to ban the party out of sheer panic.
