Idea.
Imagine you have a digital wallet on your phone that holds several “coins,” each representing a different amount of Bitcoin.
These coins are visually displayed on the screen as circles of various sizes—the larger the circle, the higher the value. When you want to pay someone, you select the specific coins you want to use, much like picking physical coins from your pocket.
Instead of sending everything in one go, each selected coin is sent separately as its own payment. For each payment, the app creates a new, unique address (like a one-time-use destination) by performing a secure process that combines a bit of information from both you and the person you’re paying.
This ensures that each transaction is private and unique. You can also choose to split a coin into smaller parts or combine smaller coins into a larger one, depending on how you want to manage your payments.
This way, even if you’re paying for a single item, each coin is handled independently, providing more control and privacy in every transaction. The app’s design allows you to visually manage and send your Bitcoin in a way that feels more like handling physical coins, making the process easy to understand and use.
In this system, when you decide to send a set amount, like $5, the app allows you to select multiple coins from your wallet that together meet or exceed this amount.
For example, if you have coins worth $2, $2, and $3, you could select these to reach $7, covering the $5 payment and leaving $2 as “change.” Each selected coin is sent as an independent transaction, each with its own unique, newly generated address, so there’s never any address reuse. The app then automatically consolidates any excess amount into a new coin, storing it back in your wallet with its own fresh address. This keeps your wallet organized and simplifies future transactions, as all change is returned as a single, new coin rather than multiple fragments.
Unless you choose small coins.
Additionally, this process can be fully automated. Once you set an amount to send, the app can select the coins for you, ensuring you reach or exceed the payment amount. It can then handle the creation of individual transactions and the return of any change as a new coin, without requiring further input.
This makes the process both secure, private and convenient, allowing you to focus on what you’re sending without managing every detail manually.
