They called BTC a hedge. Said it would protect you when the markets turned red, when blood hit the floors of Wall Street and the algorithms started convulsing. They said BTC would stand apart, untouched, holy. But every time the markets drop, BTC dives headfirst. No delay. No resistance. Just panic in unison.
This isn’t a hedge. A hedge doesn’t mimic the very system it’s meant to protect you from. A hedge is uncorrelated. A hedge is gold in ’08. A hedge is boring, stoic, unyielding. BTC is a clown in a panic room—dancing when times are good, crying when the music stops. It’s pegged to the same liquidity flows, the same speculation cycles, the same herd of fools who treat it like tech stock cosplay.
Look at the data. Every significant drawdown in equity markets—BTC falls. Inflation panic? BTC falls. Credit crunch? BTC falls. It isn’t insurance; it’s leverage. It’s not a lifeboat—it’s a second ticket on the Titanic. And yet they keep repeating the line. "It’s a hedge." As if saying it enough makes it true.
But in finance, truth isn’t what you say—it’s how it moves. And BTC moves with the market. Always has. Always will. There’s no independence in a coin that runs on momentum and breaks on fear. They sold it as salvation. What they gave you was volatility wrapped in delusion.
