👉Pre-Concreting Slab Checklist

1️⃣ Formwork (Shuttering) 📏
Check type, strength, stability, dimensions, quality, and level.

2️⃣ Reinforcement 🔩🧰
Engineer must check grade, size, positions, laps, spacing, and cover.

3️⃣ Level 📐🧭
Confirm slab thickness and surface level with instruments.

4️⃣ Worker Safety Gear 🦺👷‍♂️
All PPE must be available for workers.

5️⃣ Materials 🏗️🪨💧
Cement, sand, aggregate, water, and other items must be on site per calculations.

6️⃣ Equipment & Machinery 🚜🔧
Ensure mixers, vibrators, pumps, etc. are ready.

7️⃣ Workforce 👨‍🏭👩‍🏭
Skilled + unskilled labor should be present before pour.

8️⃣ MEP Embeds ⚡🚰
Check electrical conduits, water, and drainage pipes with drawings.

📊 Handy Formulas

⭐️1) Concrete Volume

V = L × W × t

📏 Example:
L = 6 m, W = 4 m, t = 0.12 m
➡️ V = 6 × 4 × 0.12 = 2.88 m³

⭐️2) Material Estimation (1 : a : b Mix)

Dry volume = Wet volume × 1.54

📦 Cement bags, 🏖 Sand, 🪨 Aggregate

Example (M20 ≈ 1:1.5:3, V = 2.88 m³):

Cement = 23 bags 🎒

Sand = 1.21 m³ 🏖

Aggregate = 2.42 m³ 🪨

⭐️3) Number of Bars

n = floor((L_clear ÷ s)) + 1

📏 Example: L = 6 m, spacing = 150 mm
➡️ n = 40 bars 🔩

⭐️4) Rebar Lap Length

Tension lap = 40 × φ
Compression lap = 30 × φ

Example: φ = 12 mm
➡️ Tension = 48 cm 📏
➡️ Compression = 36 cm

⭐️5) Development Length

Ld = (φ × σ_s) ÷ (4 × τ_bd)

Example: φ = 12 mm, σ_s = 415 MPa, τ_bd = 1.6 MPa
➡️ Ld ≈ 78 cm 📏

⭐️6) Slump Deviation (%)

% = ((measured - target) ÷ target) × 100%

Example: Target = 75 mm,
⏺Measured = 85 mm
➡️ Deviation = 13.3% 📊

⭐️7) Pour Duration

▶️Time = V ÷ pump_rate

⏺Example: V = 2.88 m³, Pump = 12 m³/hr

➡️ Time = 14.4 minutes ⏱
