Money, it ought to be remembered, is a social convention. It serves a function as a medium of exchange/reserve, as well as a savings medium. Money is also an idea (a form) with an aura whose very allure is to reproduce the social conditions for the creation of more money, through credit of course. Like all conventions, money also holds by some form of consensus. Any currency has to be recognized as value and it attains a status as a symbolic power by the knowledge people hold about it as both means of transaction and a social form.

Geld, daran sollte man sich erinnern, ist eine gesellschaftliche Konvention. Es dient sowohl als Tausch-/Reserve- als auch als Sparmedium. Geld ist auch eine Idee (eine Form) mit einer Aura, deren eigentlicher Reiz darin besteht, die gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen für die Schaffung von mehr Geld zu reproduzieren, natürlich durch Kredit. Wie alle Konventionen hält auch Geld an einer Form von Konsens fest. Jede Währung muss als Wert anerkannt werden und erlangt durch das Wissen um sie als Zahlungsmittel und Gesellschaftsform einen Status als Symbolkraft.
