Just one in 42 adult rapes investigated by Greater Manchester Police last year led to a criminal charge or summons.
A total of 1,420 rapes were reported in Greater Manchester in the year ending March 2022. GMP have completed their investigations in 1,007 of those cases. But only 32 - just 2.4 per cent of completed cases - resulted in a charge or summons after police finished considering the evidence.
