๐Ÿ‘‰Unit Weight of Rebar (Steel Reinforcement Bar)

๐Ÿ’ซThe unit weight of reinforcement steel is one of the most important values used in civil engineering for estimating steel quantities, preparing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and calculating project costs. It is determined using the standard formula:

โ‡๏ธUnit Weight (kg/m) = Dยฒ / 162.2

๐ŸทWhere: D = Nominal diameter of the rebar (mm)

๐Ÿšง162.2 = Constant based on the density of steel (7850 kg/mยณ)

๐ŸชงCommon Rebar Unit Weights:

6 mm = 0.222 kg/m

8 mm = 0.395 kg/m

10 mm = 0.616 kg/m

12 mm = 0.888 kg/m

16 mm = 1.578 kg/m

20 mm = 2.466 kg/m

25 mm = 3.853 kg/m

32 mm = 6.313 kg/m

๐ŸงทKnowing these values helps engineers and contractors accurately estimate steel requirements, reduce material wastage, and improve construction planning.
