😁Axios:

"U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Kurdish leaders in Iraq on Sunday to discuss the U.S.-Israel war with Iran and the way forward, according to sources with knowledge of the calls.

Trump spoke with PDK President Masoud Barzani and PUK President Bafel Talabani, leaders of the two main Kurdish factions in Iraq, a day after authorizing the bombing campaign.

The calls were the culmination of months of lobbying by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has urged strikes and regime change in Iran and advocated for Kurdish involvement.

The Kurds have thousands of fighters along the Iran-Iraq border and control strategic areas that could be significant as the war develops.

A source said Netanyahu may have overestimated the number of Kurds who might take up arms against Iran, but added, "it's not nothing."
