📋 WHAT IS A NONCONFORMANCE REPORT (NCR) IN CONSTRUCTION?

A Nonconformance Report, commonly called an NCR, documents work or materials that do not meet specified project requirements.

It helps the project team record the problem, assess its significance, and manage corrective action.

🔹 When Might an NCR Be Raised?

🧱 Concrete that fails to meet a specified acceptance requirement.

🔩 Reinforcement installed contrary to approved drawings.

📐 Dimensions outside specified tolerances.

📦 Materials that do not comply with approved requirements.

🔹 Typical NCR Process

1️⃣ Identify the nonconformance.

2️⃣ Record the relevant facts and evidence.

3️⃣ Notify the responsible parties.

4️⃣ Assess the issue and determine the appropriate disposition.

5️⃣ Obtain the required approval for corrective action.

6️⃣ Complete the action and verify its effectiveness.

7️⃣ Close the NCR in accordance with project procedures.

📌 Important: Do not conceal nonconforming work or make unauthorized changes. Structural issues may require assessment and approval by the responsible design professional.
