🧱 EFFLORESCENCE — WHY DO WHITE DEPOSITS APPEAR ON WALLS?

Efflorescence is a white, powdery or crystalline deposit that can appear on masonry, concrete, and other porous building materials.
It generally forms when water dissolves soluble salts inside a material, transports them toward the surface, and evaporates.

🔹 Common Contributing Factors

1️⃣ Moisture entering through walls or foundations.

2️⃣ Soluble salts in construction materials or surrounding soil.

3️⃣ Water leakage or poor drainage.

4️⃣ Inadequate moisture protection.

5️⃣ Repeated wetting and drying.
🔹 How Can It Be Addressed?
✅ Identify and control the moisture source.

✅ Inspect drainage and possible water entry points.

✅ Allow the material to dry appropriately.

✅ Use a suitable cleaning method after checking the surface and material.

⚠️ Aggressive cleaning or sealing a damp wall without diagnosing the problem may worsen damage or hide the underlying cause.

📌 Efflorescence is not always a sign of structural failure, but persistent moisture should be investigated.
