👉Runway Markings Explained

Threshold – The start of the runway where aircraft land. Marked by white stripes.

Landing Designator – The runway number (like 09, 27) showing its direction based on compass heading.

Centerline – The dashed white line in the middle that pilots follow for alignment.

Aiming Point – Large white blocks where pilots aim to touch down during landing.

Touchdown Zone Markings – Groups of white bars that help pilots judge distance while landing.

Edge Markings – Solid white lines on both sides showing runway boundaries.

Blast Pad – Area before the runway that protects the surface from jet blast; not for landing or takeoff.
