This is the main cause of West's decline, IMO. The optimal biological age to have a baby is around 19y.

This is tragic on so many levels, but one is that if the new 31 y.o. mother has to wait 31 years to have her first, maybe only, grandchild, she will be 62 years old. What a shame! One of the many blessings of motherhood is becoming a grandmother. Sure, they're babies and young children for the next decade, but the mom is 80 years old when her first grandchild graduates from high school. Eighty years old! Whereas had she had her first child at 22, she would be a mere 62 -- if the child follows the same pattern -- when her first grandchild graduates from high school. It is naïve to think one will have the same strength and energy as she did when she was 35 for the rest of her life. Marry young and try to have all your babies before you're 30. It will pay off in the long run if you do.

People feel that they can no longer afford to retire, so it works out perfectly. Now having children at an advanced age is problematic, but the majority of women in western countries are still having them at a healthy age since you will notice that although the age of first childbirth is lower in Eastern European countries, their fertility rate tends to be even lower which shows that western women are still able to conceive more of them after their first.
