This land ladies and gents is at the location of my studio/office and is going to be converted in to an area to grow lots of food. The local Steiner school is also getting involved as are locals so I can create a space to teach people to live more holistic and natural but also to disconnect people from technology and more with nature.
Look forward to progress pictures!

This is amazing. What area is this?
Hope you've sourced your heritage/non hybrid seeds now. So many people are becoming aware that these are the only type of seeds which will grow foods and then you can save some of the resulting seeds to grow the next generation of plants, which should grow true to type. Maybe also see if there is a local permaculture group near you who can advise and help you.
A little tip I have if you want to grow a few lettuces or shallots quickly. Some ways to start planting easily in a pot and to get results fast is to buy some hydroponically grown lettuces in the vegetable store or supermarket and cut off the leaves to eat in a salad, then plant the remaining base of the lettuce, with the roots, into plain water or water with hydroponic liquid in it or put into potting mix or soil and the lettuce will continue to sprout leaves. You can also sprout the base of a celery this way too. Chop off the celery sticks and keep the remaining base. Put it in water and it should eventually grow roots and sprout sticks again. You can also do this with shallots.
