In a world where every person is born with an invisible companion spirit that only they can communicate with, write a short story or poem from the perspective of either the person or the spirit.

After her parents left the room, Kira whispered fervently, "Icarus, are you there?" A gentle hum filled the room as her unseen guide responded, "Never far, Kira. What guidance do you seek today?" Companions from birth, they were born together, for better or for worse. Kira's parents would say she talked to herself; they did not know about Icarus. No one did. It was their secret, a silent friendship fostering wisdom and companionship in an otherwise lonely world. Icarus was unseen but felt in a thousand profound ways: a warming presence, a voice of reason, a ray of inspiration in the darkest times. In turn, Kira was his tether to the physical world, a world otherwise inaccessible to him. Their symbiotic relationship painted untold stories of mystical companionship—a bond transcending the earthly and the ethereal. Could spirits be lonely? Kira sometimes wondered. After all, Icarus had but one friend—her.

Why are you always there?
I hate that.
Where is your clothes?
And I try to study and you turn into a rat.
What is that?
You dance. You smile. You are care-free. You enjoy life.
And yet you speak to me with words of my cat.
So the cat, Mr. Titus is freaked out from your teasing.
Yet you still tease, titillate and come on ...
Wow
What is that?
I come home and you are ready to tap into me.
Rock me
Set me free
To the wonderland
And I see the grand views that are amazing. But I have a life.
So you push me into the midst of wonderland
I can stop you, you know that.
Yet it goes on, we enter deep waters among the wonderland elite
Shit is that an eagle on the head of someone?
Two, three, four, oh geez it's part of the scene
You land on my shoulder
Again.
And mean the best.
It's your world, your realm, perhaps you are right ...
In the fight to exist as a spirit?
But I smile. I like this. This wonderland is beyond the world of
Taxes
Bills
Histories
Memes
Social Media
And endless scrolling
Ha ha, doom scrolling
Var-room
The mustang takes off and we ride into
Nirvana
Knowing this process is part of the Limbo
Himbo
Her push
Lush riding always works. And we smile, always.
Irish music plays now as we enter the tavern.
How good it is to see you!!

A husband?
Nope!
Glad to match the chess pieces to the checker board.
Black and white
Is a symbol, right?
Night sees me flop into bed, panty less and wanton.
I rip away the brutal truth and smile
I fall into slumber worthless and free.
Run and hide.
Nope.
Stand and Fight.
Goodnight.
