I'm guessing it's tied in with promiscuity and loose sex being sold as 'liberation', and this is because they want the break down of the traditional family and normal heterosexual relationships. The more depravity they can get us to indulge in, the weaker and more easily manipulated we are.

I’m not a homophobe, but over the years I’ve noticed that a large portion of homosexuals have a similar obsession and perversion with sexuality. Since homosexuality is a major part of the left, it could be the source of this behavior. Also, it’s a PR stunt that receives more attention. Although, they do it so often these days, I don’t think many people care at this point.
