I saw a article just today about how having children is apparently bad for the environment. They said people in western countries and especially white people are "privileged enough" to choose to not have children while non-white people and people from non-western countries don't have that luxury. At the same time they say Western countries need to be flooded by non-western and non-white people to counter low population growth in western countries. They aren't just anti-family, they are anti western white nuclear family

Actually the over inflated cost of everything has just made us move to the country in acreage so we can raise our own food and get out of the system. And we're not the only ones.

I think it's fair to say, this is in part because people don't garden and can as much, more money is needed for the grocery store and not to mention other "needs" such as internet, cell phones, television... Things we used to just forgo.

By class pretentious do you mean that they have to have the latest gadgets etc and keep up with the neighbours? My parents were like this and it's a miserable way to live, I have a large family and we have none of the latest must haves but we are happy without all that junk. Even my furniture and household items are older than I am and will outlast all the modern rubbish.
