This was known when Snowden was still at the NSA, so I'm not exactly surprised.
In Nineteen Eighty four Orwell mused the only safe and secure place was the place between your ears.
For privacy, don't use the Internet. Just don't.
Signal is supported by Twitter, I would not trust it. Big tech hands all over it

Nothing is 100% safe when one is online.

This is common knowledge: for the past 10 years, all encryption algorithms have been illegal unless a universal key is stored with the authorities.

They watch me through my phone camera, and listen too. They can use the phone IMEI and don't require the sim to be in. It was designed to watch you no matter which way your phone is down. They are able to zoom into anything that gets in the lens. Web cameras and smart TV's are also hacked through wifi.
I literally talk to government when I look at my phone. All of them at once.
If you want a great series where this type of spy tech is depicted check out the series Colony on Netflix Brittany! They literary have screens where they can see everything you do online and every email or whatsapp message! We are all an open book!!!!!

Well if you read the article, it is not really Signal which is problematic. They gained access to the iPhone by a vulnerability of iOS. After that: if you can read the message within an unlocked app, anyone can. Why wouldn't they. Signal is still great. The messages on the servers are completely useless to a third party, including the operators themselves. So there is at least no single spot to attack to gain access to everyone. Also: don't use an iPhone, but an Android with GrapheneOS, e.g.
can't read what isn't there

The title is misleading. The FBI cannot hack telegram or Signal on a locked iPhone. The FBI can unlock an iPhone that has been locked in a specific way, for a specific period of time. At that point they can do anything anyone can do with an unlocked phone, including open Signal. But it is true that nothing is 100% secure, and extra privacy measure should always be taken. Avoiding Apple products is a great first step.

It's Open Source. We have people in the tech community who check the integrity of open source apps who are not affiliated with any corporations. Signal is not compromised.
