AzaPI considers Telegram one of the largest sources of piracy in Runet
The Internet Copyright Association (ASAPI) is unhappy that Google does not remove apps with "pirate" books in Russian language from the European Google Play, including Telegram and YouTube. ASAPI, which represents the interests of major Russian book publishers, asks the European Commission to hold the corporation accountable.
Applications with pirated content prevent legal services like Storytel, Bookmate or Litres from competing in the European market, although the popularity of e-books is growing, according to the head of ASAPI Maxim Ryabyko.
As Ryabyko explained, the rights holders could not apply to the court, as the service was officially operated by the service, although the service was officially functioning normally, despite all the efforts of Roskomnadzor.
In June 2020, the regulator in coordination with the Prosecutor General's Office,"- unlocked Telegram.
