Women still want to have sex with the bad boys without giving up their security

My first wife cheated on me every chance she got. I was naive and stupid about her. But when I realized what was really going on and confronted her about it--SHE GOT ANGRY WITH ME and started the divorce! The night before we were to appear in court and finalize the divorce, she shows up at my residence and begs me not to go through with it! Crazy woman! Of course we went through with it. Enough of her nonsense! I thought of the reasons why so many married women want to cheat and/or have open marriage. It's simple: if a woman wants to go out and screw every guy in town, it just wouldn't look good, i.e., she'd look like a slut, a dirty pig of a woman to the rest of the world, and women can't have that. With women, it's all about her face, the way the world sees her. She wants a certain untarnished image as her front. She must be seen as pure and good at all times So, she hooks up with a guy who is stupid enough and/or naive enough to put up with these affairs of hers he will not know about or won't care about. He will keep himself ignorant and/or just looking the other way and pretend everything's OK. He doesn't want to be a laughingstock after all, so he will keep it quiet while she bangs around. Her partners will also keep quiet because they don't want to get found out. Meantime she's parading around with her good looks and reputation as though nothing's happening. The world sees her as a perfectly functioning, normal, good person. She simply can't be seen as a cheater. Her world would be shattered. Everything she believes she is about would be gone in a flash if she's exposed.

As sad as this story is, in a way the stubborn naïvité of men is to blame as well. If men were rational in the best sense, they'd manage the courtship of a prospective woman according to the time tested protocol of the Holy Church (I'm orthodox, but the roman-latin church has a similar concept), which forces the man and the woman to abstain from sex before marriage as to not poison ones's perception of the other. Thus man and woman can geg to know each other and find out about the mutual sense of self-denial and of virtue (apart from personal sympathy of course), which is the only possible foundation fora stable, lasting and happy and blissful marriage. And the goal of courtship is not hnattached sex, but marriage of course. Once all of this (and more) practical wisdom gets discarded and anything goes, since nobody has any more knowledge about how to go about such matters, the brakes are off and the course more often than not ends in chaos, bitterness, pain and suffering. Sad but true... Peace! ✌🏻

Why isn't anyone acknowledging that the woman isn't a sex slave for the husband, either? She and he both need to find ways to make things work for both of them and he shouldn't be DEMANDING sex 24/7, if that is what he was doing. If she doesn't want to be with him at all sexually, then they need to see a therapist and find out what is going on. Hopefully he is faithful enough to not abandon her if she has mental or physical issues that are making this impossible for her now.

I don't think counseling will help this marriage. It has been my experience that some couple should never be together. Asking to explore should be a red flag. Husband being ok with wife exploring is another. There are men and women who will not be okay with performing sex with their perspective couple and along come someone new and they're doing what they wouldn't do with their spouse/partner. Counseling only works if both involved are willing to participate and that includes finding out through counseling that the best thing to do is walkaway (Divorce).
