Dating is important to forming relationships that lead to marriage. Men are shying away from dating, and hence, marriage.

Look at any workplace the traditional place to find a partner. Men are 3rd class citizens. A young girl recently commented as soon as I walk in the room men especially the older ones stop talking. Anything can be used against you even if people can over hear a conversation they have the right to lodge a complaint.

I don’t think asking parent’s permission before marrying their daughter is specifically a religious thing. I think it’s a sign of respect for the parents.
