All those calling for the US to get involved in yet another war can feel free to go fight themselves.

I doubt many people will take up this most generous offer. If at least the president would toss in Ukrainian citizenship he might attract a few criminals in need of a new identity.

Mercenaries are defined in international law as persons who do not belong to the hierarchy of state armed forces and participate in a war solely for commercial interests. Under international law, mercenaries are not considered combatants and do not enjoy protection in this regard, which means that they cannot legally participate in an armed conflict in the same way as soldiers. Therefore, if they kill or injure opponents, they are liable to prosecution for murder or assault. This is provided for in the 1977 First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention on the Law of War.

Nor can mercenaries receive protection under international law as prisoners of war. If they are arrested, they are entitled only to the general minimum standard: the right to humane treatment and a trial.

Moreover, modern international law does not require residents of the country to wear uniforms when engaging in combat-although they must carry their weapons openly and in plain view of the enemy, which includes Molotov cocktails.
If they hide their weapons or wear uniforms or uniform parts of the enemy, they lose their status as combatants and are treated as mercenaries.
If Germans commit crimes as mercenaries abroad, prosecution is theoretically assured. In the case of war crimes or crimes against humanity, the German International Criminal Code applies; in the case of serious offenses such as murder, the general German Criminal Code applies. Participation in combat abroad is not punishable, but recruiting Germans for foreign military service is.

Russia is apparently so scared of nato, that they are intentionally expanding westward, right next to nato
You can thank Gorbachev for that. He was the one who didn't get it in writing that Nato would not be expanded eastwards. It was he who was so stupid as to trust the Americans. Without this mistake, none of this would have happened.

Good chance for terrorist from the whole World, fuck??? It's time to stop 8-years war

If the US do anything to suppress Russian wealth i.e. to remove it from world banking, then we’ll enter into a new economic ice age such as has never been seen before in the world.

Nato never would have launched an unprovoked, nationwide attack on another country who was pleading for peace.
Nato did attack Yugoslavia in 1999 without UN approval, and Yugoslavia didn't attack any of the NATO members it was a civil war. So you're statement is stupid, because NATO was created because of Soviet Union as a counter balance and protection from Soviet Union. When Soviet Union fall apart USA promised that they would not expend on east and close to the Russian borders. We see that the was not respected. And that NATO is pushing Ukraine to become a member. That's why Russia invaded Ukraine because they demand for Ukraine to stay neutral. Buy the way I have to remember you that USA didn't allow Russia to deploy racket systems to Cuba because it is a treat for USA.
Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, initially agreed to meet with Russian delegates and suggested to meet in Minsk in Belarus, he cancelled and instead demanded talks be held in a NATO city like Warsaw, Bratislav, Budapest, Istanbul or Baku. He chose the country to hold peace agreement talks, refused to go and now wants to hold it in a country where it is currently impossible for the Russian delegates to even get in because of sanctions
This is such an absurd discussion. Acting like the only logical thing to do was a full-out assault on ukraine, as if Russia's hands were tied during a time of peace, putting everyone in significantly more danger
The US will not get their Hands dirty.
They will let fight Europeans for this War.
And will take the Russian Oil very well.

NATO is evil and danger. One day someone will disagree with their policy. There is no one pole anymore. They must realize it.

Hi Gabe. It is not a time of peace when Russian nationals living in Ukraine are systematically targeted and killed by the Ukrainian government, and whilst human trafficking, corruption and actual Nazism is expanding in the region.

It is not a time of peace when western "free" coountries are punishing their own citiizens who want medial autonomy (which in theory is already guanteed), and who force/coerce their population to comlply with an experimental drug the caualties of which cannot be fully calculated as adverse events are being actively censored and trial data is being hidden from the people - which effectively negates any chance of "informed" consent.

A cabal of evil actors have conspired agaist their own citizens in the most wretched and deceptive way. It's what I woud call a "passive war"; the caualties of which cannot be estimated as the destructive outcome is sure to last for decades to come.

Furthermore, U.S. foreign pollicies for at least a few generations has killed countless innocent citizens for grotesque causes, and seemingly has no intention of quelling their bloodlust and desire for power.

I a not condoning actions taken by eitherside here. Nor am I an apologist for Putin. I feel that we should see this conflict, however, through the lens of a balanced perspective.
If China or Russia backed a coup in Canada and pushed billions worth in weapons into the country and promoted anti American sentiment shutting down pro American media and politicians the US would invade immediately and the media would cheer. F them and their disgusting empire causing wars (including this one) and their constant promotion of anti White propaganda which will end horrible for us Europeans here in the western US puppet states since we will end up as hated minorities in our own nations.
If I go to Ukraine to fight, will they give me an AK47?

Please watch my YouTube video about this https://youtu.be/r62oI6CY2Hs
Thank you for this very informative video. I can see your arguments are well-thought-out and you also have direct experience to base your opinions on.

I too have some direct experience as my parents used to live in both Russia and Ukraine and my father speaks Russian. I also have had several Russian and some Ukrainian friends and have heard their stories from both sides.

As I said I am not an apologist for Putin. I do not see him as a "nice guy" if you will. I am also not far right or far-left although I am a trans woman and so I can see things from many different angles here.

I respect your views and I think your voice is something we need to listen to in order to have a fuller picture. However my primary argument really has to do with your statement that we are living in peaceful times when in fact we are living in extremely aggressive times and many people are suffering though not from bombs and gunfire and displacement but through coercive measures and punishing tyrannical government overreach. I do not believe we have a leg to stand on to condemn another leader when our own leaders are committing evils against their citizens that I will never forgive and we shouldn't ever forgive them for it.

Though it is disaster in Ukraine, it is good for agressive Putin's Russia to experience Ukraine kicking their arce. The aggressor will learn respect and the aggressed will have confidence.
As the world leaders (including Biden) used to say during these 2 years of this "plandemic": "Stay home, and stay safe".
So dear Americans, EU members, and anyone else, stay home & stay safe.
