If scientists could take a male skin cell and transfer that DNA to an egg, why couldn't they take a female skin cell and transfer that DNA to a sperm, thereby making men unneeded in the reproductive process as well? They could grow unlimited amounts of human beings in the laboratory, free of parents. Even genetically modify them to be whatever they wanted. Men have an XY chromosome, both men and women start out as female in the womb initially. Men still have the X in the chromosome, which allows for the egg to be created from male DNA. Women have no Y In the chromosome though, hence you can never create any sperm from female DNA. This is lego blocks simplicity, hope that answers it. Men got both parts of the equation in their genetics, women do not.

Creating less turbulence( for the developing embryo) and more guaranteed success, and more freedom( humans no longer need to get pregnant at all nor go through that grueling process for women.
