18-60 is the same range we use. 18 is when most Americans (that choose to) join the service, the officers are able to be called back until 65. It gives you an able workforce as well as a leadership with life experience.

And most of them have been working in the military for years,so it isn't voluntary as such. Almost nobody showed up for Zelensky's forced mobilization draft. crickets.
