The Tolkien society is hosting a woke seminar about Lord of the Rings this summer.

Just a few of the talks are titled “Gondor in Transition: A Brief Introduction to Transgender Realities in The Lord of the Rings” and “Pardoning Saruman?: The Queer in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings”.

I by chance happened to listen to a German Tolkien society live talk some days ago. There was mentioned: German society about 1000 members. THE Tolkien society (English, which you mentioned above) supposedly having 3000 members. Miniscule club! Not relevant for the fandom. (And to my knowledge definitely a different entity to the body which is advising the coming LOTR amazon series).
on their page it reads:
"The Tolkien Society has well over 1,000 members in over 30 different countries, many of whom play a full and active role in the Society. Here are some of the reasons why you should join the Tolkien Society today."

What kind of mental gymnastics do they have to pull to honestly think Tolkien would have EVER tolerated their bullshit? Probably the same somersaults to be able to say that a man can become a woman just by wanting it badly enough. Ugh.

Do they have a seminar where they talk about how they're feasting upon his corpse like ghouls? No? Well can't say I am surprised.

Sauron is using his puppet against middle earth. He will strike hard as he knows there's still strength in the race of men

Transgender? Queer? Tolkien was a very religious and probably very conservative man. One interpretation of L.O.T.R. is the Christian narrative about a war between angels and demons before our time. It's like the war between elves and the orcs.

Tolkien had a strong influence in converting C. S. Lewis to Christianity. The history of The Inklings is fascinating.

True, they did talk to the Tolkien Estate but two months after the deal was signed, Christopher Tolkien stepped down from his position. He probably knew what he just did or he was pressured to do it. A Tolkien scholar and biographer that participated in the Amazon series also left. These are not good signs.

Notice how it is mostly women who are making these 'talks'. Third wave feminism strikes again....(With apologies to all sensible, respectable women who love Tolkien, who I hope are just as outraged as the rest of us.)
Yes, I'm a female Tolkien fan who used to be a third wave feminist but are now a conservative. Don't worry, there still are sensible female Tolkien fans.

Christopher Tolkien was right. I agree with everything he said. I like LOTR movies. They were great. But C. Tolkien said they lacked the beauty and seriousness of the books. The Hobbit trilogy was next. Even Peter Jackson was desperate and very unsatisfied with them. They were totally below LOTR movies. What's coming now will be even worse. Please God, do not let them film The Sillmarillion.

I think any movie adaptation of a book will always fall short. I believe LOTR was the closest we'll ever come to a great adaptation of a great book.

I'm a Tolkien fan, have been since 5th grade and I'm a woman, NON-feminist!

Though J.R.R. Tolkien wrote of many strange monsters in his stories, he dreamt of no creature so wild as one of his own commentators!

I’m going to listen in to some of the most comical sounding talks and see what nonsense they are spouting. I will report back.

Amen! So thankful there was no 'wokeness' in the Jackson LOTR adaption.
Just wait for the movie history revising to start. Those LOTR movies are not safe.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they keep getting dumber and dumber with time. Just when you think we have experienced peak stupid as a species....

They will destroy everything only to take reign and rule over the ashes they have created from once noble creations. Pathetic and sad.

I wish there were a way to get their name revoked. They don't deserve the prestige.
